The Glass String will be closed from December 19th- January 11th.
Thank you to all my customers for a great 2008!
My name is Kelli Bamonte Coe. I live in Florida with my husband and two children. I have a degree in business management. I decided I would use my business knowledge and start my own company. Kelli Maria Designs, LLC was born in February of 2006.
I always say that everyone has an artistic side, but finding it takes true talent. I developed a passion for art in the seventh grade. Since then I have learned what I love and hate about art. Painting and sculpting will always be my favorites. I also enjoy painting murals and refinishing old furniture. I see art in everything no matter the object or age.
Why e-commerce?
I knew that I wanted in on the action when I realized it can all be done from home. I just needed something to sell. I started beading and then decided to start working with wire. I decided to make and sell jewelry after many rave reviews and orders from family. I have taught myself everything I have learned thus far and only hope to further my skills.
I still needed something different to set me apart from the competition. The Mommy Key Chain idea came after I had my first son. I wanted something with MOM on it so I could show off my son’s name. I tried making a bracelet, but he always tugged at it. I then designed the key chain and sold a few, so I added it as one of my products. The phone tether was another thing I needed after my son. I could not find my phone in my diaper bag, or it would fall out of my purse in the car. I have sold many phone tethers and my customers say they could not survive without them. I agree!
Future plans
I am a little older and wiser than when I started college. I now realize you can always learn more, especially about something you love. I hope to further my jewelry making skills with classes. I am currently learning to drill and cut gemstones. I will also be soldering and sculpting with silver clay very soon.
Pearls Are For Girls will be a place you can donate old, used, beat-up, and broken jewelry. I will fix it up (as much as possible) then personally deliver, or mail it to nursing homes, battered women’s shelters, or other organizations that help women. I even take jewelry from the 80’s!
I realized after cleaning out a cabinet full of old costume jewelry that this stuff would make some girl very happy. I could not bear to throw it away. I really hope old treasures can become someone’s new treasures.
